Art Book 2022

On May 3 at 6 p.m., the first exhibition from this edition of the festival opens at the Regional History Museum – Sofia, Hall for Temporary Exhibitions. The exhibition is part of the Paper Art Biennial and has been selected as a start of the festival. It is a format in paper art associated with collector's editions that often transcend the notion of a book and enter the territory of objects with elements of the books. The current selection of 32 artists, from 14 countries, will present a diversity of trends in this art. The exhibition is on view until May 31, 2022.

In the two previous editions, this format was shown at the central building of the Regional History Museum – Sofia in 2015 and at the National History Museum in 2013. The exhibition intrigued viewers with its unusual creative conceits.

Among the established artists in this section are names such as: Wilhelm Schramm, Austria; Josephine Tabbert and Jutta Barth, Germany; Laura Behar, Israel; Gerda Ritzman, Switzerland; Kenji Sato, Japan; Manya Vaptsarova and Veska Abad, Bulgaria; Sofia Nordmann, Argentina; Eliana Anghinah, Brazil.

On June 01, 2022 a workshop for children will take place in the central building of Regional History Museum – Sofia.
