Japan Bowl V
For fifth consecutive time Sofia Paper Art Fest hosted the junior competition Japan Bowl Bulgaria. The event once again attracted the enthusiasm and knowledge of dozens of new participants engaged in Japanese language and culture.
Four educational institutions with 20 teams and 59 participants from Sofia and Ruse took part in the competition. For its fifth anniversary, the event, which has become a tradition, imposed a new format for equal number of teams representing each educational structure. Each school nominates its best teams after a preliminary internal round to select the many willing to participate in Japan Bowl V. The high level of preparation by the participants and the tough questions made the event unforgettable and memorable. Excitement and joy accompanied the award ceremony and the art event “The Art of Kiri-e” by Sensei Shimomura Yusuke.
Members of the jury were representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria, Japan Business Association for Eastern Europe, and of Japanese business in the country as follows: Kento Muraki, Jiro Uchimura, Tatsuya Hirano, Simomura Yusuke, and Iliyana Kostova.
The event was organised under the patronage of the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria.
Organisers: Amateras Foundation and Japanese Business Association for Eastern Europe.
The event took place on October 14, 2023 (Saturday) at 10 a.m., at Park Hotel Moskva, Sofia.
The event is part of Sofia Paper Art Fest 2023 and is realised with the financial support of the “One-Year Grant” Program of the National Culture Fund, the Calendar of Cultural Event of Sofia Municipality 2023, and the Embassy of Japan in Bulgaria.
