Bulgaria – Japan I
exhibition from the project
“20 Years Together in Art”
Expo Osaka 2025
Sofia Paper Art Fest is a guest at the Bulgarian Pavilion at Expo Osaka, Japan, with the exhibition “Bulgaria – Japan I”. This is the first exhibition from the project “20 Years Together in Art”, which includes a series of four exhibitions in Osaka, Fukuoka and Tokyo within one month.

The initiative is part of the cultural program dedicated to Bulgaria’s participation in Expo Osaka 2025 and presents the diversity and spiritual strength of contemporary Bulgarian art.
Over the years, Amateras Foundation has actively developed partnerships with Japanese institutions and artists, creating a bridge between the two cultures. In the period August 20–28, 2025, visitors to the pavilion can learn about the achievements and innovations of Bulgaria through visual art.

A central highlight of the exhibition is the installation “The Universe Speaks” by Daniela Todorova, which presents an important symbolic layer of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Bulgaria.

On August 24, two presentations were held:
“Elemental Sculpture” by Todor Todorov
“Amateras – Innovations and Achievements”
The event attracted admirers of Bulgarian culture, representatives of business and institutions actively working towards bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Japan.

Amateras Foundation expresses special thanks to Georgi Kostov, director of the Bulgarian Pavilion, for the support in the realization and for the excellent translation during the presentations.
