Sofia Arsenal – Museum
of Contemporary Art
On October 30, Sofia Arsenal -Museum of Contemporary Art opened the exhibition “Wind Forest”, part of the project “True to Oneself” by the sculptor Todor Todorov. The exhibition presents kinetic models of sculptures for urban space, based on the concept of elemental sculpture, created by the author in 2013.

During the exhibition, a lecture is planned on the possibilities of elemental sculpture and its role in the contemporary urban image. The topic of ecological contemporary art and the aestheticization of communicative urban spaces is particularly relevant for Sofia and Bulgaria.
The exhibition at Sofia Arsenal – Museum of Contemporary Art follows the presentations of the project in Shabla and Stara Zagora, where digital exhibitions, films and sculptures in urban environments were shown. In Sofia, the focus is on the kinetic models and the films demonstrating the possibilities of this type of contemporary sculpture. During the exhibition, a monograph about the author by Assoc. Prof. Boris Danailov will also be presented.

About the author:
Todor Todorov is a sculptor and theoretician, author of the theory “Elemental Sculpture”, published by Cambridge University Press in 2013 and by Altera Publishing House in 2014. He is the author of numerous lectures, articles and publications on contemporary art and sculpture in Bulgaria and worldwide. He is the recipient of dozens of international awards and the author of numerous monumental works placed in urban spaces and parks around the world.
